Yes. Vietnam supports both raw rubber supply and finished rubber product sourcing, but the sourcing method changes by project type. If you source raw rubber, you need to focus more on grade, origin, volume and price stability. If you source finished rubber products, you need to review product design, compound direction, sample consistency, packaging and export readiness more carefully.
No. Most suppliers will not disclose the full formula because compound recipes are often treated as internal know-how. You should instead define the required performance, use condition, hardness range, odor expectation, restricted substances and documentation needs.
You should request at least two stages: one initial sample and one pre-production or pilot batch. Review the initial sample, request revisions if needed, then confirm whether the supplier can repeat the same result under normal production conditions before scaling.
You should ask whether the odor comes from recycled content, additives, curing conditions, storage or packaging. Odor expectations should be written into the brief before approving production. This is very important because strong odor is a sourcing risk, especially for consumer goods, indoor products, mats, grips, footwear parts and pet products.
Third-party review is useful when the product has performance risk, brand risk, regulatory exposure or high repeat-order value. You should consider outside inspection before shipment and independent testing before large production when the product involves sealing, compression, oil contact, food contact, outdoor use or strict buyer standards.
The most common mistake is approving a supplier too early based on price and a good-looking sample. You should follow a clearer sequence: define the use condition, align the material direction, confirm process fit, review sample evidence, then check production and documentation readiness before larger orders.
